my 1.4 16v is coming to the end of its life, my ecu is fucked, which would cost £300 to get a new one, so might as well buy a new engine. so i want a tuned 1.6 16v. do i just need to swap the ecu and the engine??? anything else i should know before i go ahead and do the swap??
advice and tips from ppl who have done this conversion..........

andy yours is a x14xe and if youre after a x16xe tuned, go the mantzel route possibly, cams, arp bolts, port and polished head, etc etc
or just drop a 2ltr in there??

migweb probably, either by one already done - not knowing history etc
or by a standard x16xe foir say £300 then blow 1k on tuning it to 150 bhp!
Velos kit is £1150 and produces 147bhp but im unsure if there still trading and what the quality of the kit is like!
