Been looking at doing automotive engineering in college next year , and the careers it can take you onto .

One of them was an "Auto Technician" , the pay seems pretty good and can take you on to other related jobs such as bodyshop estimators etc , but what is the difference between this and being a mechanic ?

Anyone done automotive engineering ? Whats it like ?
