Goes along the lines of.....

With the recent start of your new motor vehicle policy we have completed some routen checks and our records show that referencing the elephant policy your car is fitted with an upgraded manifold and upgraded alloy wheels, this results in an additional cost of £150 which will soon be debeted from your card!!

WTF is that all about my car is 100% standard

and where would they get this sort of information!!!

Just found out they were on about the 106, they thought i still owned it and the new owner has declared those mods on his policy and for some reason they sent me that bill

Yeah they can as they have informed you and have my details on system, was the same with the policy renewal. "if you don't do anything the funds will be automatically taken"

Yeah its really nice to drive, lovely on the motorway just responds so well. Picks up so well in 5th, i find myself hardly changing down
