ive raced a gt turbo, acceleration wise they pull away a fair bit quicker, not sure top end

The only time my Punto broke down was when it had a split CV boot, never had any problems with it the rest of the time

Kindness has a video somewhere of his mate racing my old GT, my old GT made the GSi look like it was going backwards.

No way, there is no way in gods name that at 1.6 16v Astra would keep up with a GT Turbo

I second this, had no problems other than rear arm.

Bought it with 76,000 miles, sold it with 90k, Kindness has tuned it and its still going with nearly 100k

its on 99,871 miles....... runs a 14.8 1/4mile.....

The gearbox is notchy..... but not a problem
It also a fetish for fouling plugs..... suspect thats the overfueling then high boost etc

Vid - i'll go try and find that vid...... The GSi (induction and exhaust) was poop compared to the std GT
