been looking into these as i really quite fancy getting one.

seen a few on the autotrader and just wanted to know wat ppl think of them?

wanting sumat thats reliable and good build to it as i have went froma corsa to a mgzr which is a pile of shite


opinions please! or een suggestions to wat other cars about the same as an a3 u think would be good?

mk4 golf etc?

The paint is flaking off all over it..
it chips so easy...
everything and i mean everything in it rattles...
the engine burns oil..
electrics are dodgy...

and thats just sum of the main points.

car was bought brand new jan and started falling appart a few weeks after. MG say the cars fine

m8 has a a3 1.9td...in silver..sweet car and looks good and quite fast too.

New ones a lovely indeed if stupidly overpriced.

Old ones very nice too and now can be had for sensible money.

doubt id be able to get insured ion the 1.8Turbo..

was lookin at the standard 1.8.


corsaCsxi, u had any probs with urs? any bad rattles or bitsfalling off etc?

yeah, Monday, you were parked up next to us I thought it was you!! We were there for cinema on monday and again on wednesday, saw it again in the same place!!!

i appreciate the insurance issue, but look into it they aint as expensive to insure as you may think. You will forever regret it, the 1.8 is just gutless. As for problems, ive had loads but thats mostly my fault. MAF sensor is prone to failing, 80 quid exchange for replacement but otherwise they are strong engines

Gibbs, whats really fkin depressing is the fact when i saw it, i fell in love with it. Just cannot get insured on it

i think its group 14, but not 100% sure. Problems i have had - Failed standard DV, Failed MAF, failed throttle body stepper motor. coolant temp sensor is fucked, split rear wash/wipe pipe. Still, damn good car and may even be for sale at the right price, as Jr said.

i love golfs id really like one if i had the cash,but audi's are nice and they do have that buisness man air about them

If its a group 14 then i may consider it.

see the 1.8 is it a 20v? or is the 20v the turbo'd model?

seen a 1.8 20v R reg with sum mods for 4800...


as corsaCsxi sed, the audi has that bit more class... mk4 is nice and may be an option, but the only mk4 i like is the r32, so id need to put that kit on it.
