when you change your engine how does this effect mot time?
If the log book hasnt been changed it wont pass will it?

not much really just emissions are tested on the year of the engine not the year of the car.
some MOT stations may ask for proof of what year the engine is altho most with common sense will know whether its a pre 92 or not

Never had an mot yet but i thought they checked the vin number matched the log book

If I did an engine swap and didn't change the log book then the MOT would be the last worry on my mind. I would be more worried about driving uninsured, not correctly taxed and not driving a properly regestered vehicle...

na all that happens is on the mot it will have the engine no. of your new engine instead of the proper registered one,na they dont check log book
