a 2l is well out of your capability mate, to be completly honest with you. by al means if you want something bad engough do it. BUT....it WILL cost you loads, and a lot of power behind a resonably unsure foot is a dangerous conbination. you could be not only a danger to yourself and other people

firstly i appreciate ur comments but when u say unsure foot i presume u mean a "novice" driver? ive driven for ages mate just not legally etc...
yes 2ltr is a big engine in such a light car but im sure i am not that silly i respect big engines
what sort of price range we looking at ive heard it can be around £1500?

im not saying you are a complete novice at all mate, i have no idea what standard of driver you are, which is why i inserted the word resonably, but you have only really been driving on the roads for a yeah (despite the illegal exploits)
by almeans mate go for it if you really want one. just trying to give you some helpfull and friendly advice
the engine cinversion itself is around the £1500, but this does not include suspension (which needs lowering) and brakes (which need upgrading)

v6 brakes from a veccy are 5 stud, but yeah you get the idea.
ive been down that route, and yeah im going down it again. just a bit differently this time i have had a few quotes but then i am 21 with 4 years no claims, so its a completly different story. and its still resonably expensive for me. but if you need any advice ill gladly help

trouble is, you will pay a bit to put in a 1.6 16v, and then like you say you will want to change once you are used to that
its kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place mate. id stick with what you got for another six months or so, or look at buying a 1.4 sport or something. just my opinon mate. feel free to pay no attention

£2000 in my own name @19 with 1 years no claims, but that was only for a month while we were sorting out the extra years no claims, now its £1800. 18 will probably be even harder to insure though, and £2k was my absolute limit for insurance, beyond that its just a joke really.
