Right, I just wanted to say hello again, as my last thread ended up full of sad indeviduals sharking and making crude comments

I joined here because, like I mentioned in my deleted post, I have just passed my test and am looking to buy my first car, I'm hoping to get a Corsa, and I heard of this site and thought I could get some advice on the type and spec i should be looking at etc

I would appreciate any advice anyone would like to share

Oh and....as per title,

Hello

Again

hello and welcome to CS

first off you need to get a budget, or a figure in your head on how much you want to spend and also is it new or second hand etc

After that, you need to think do you want to by something thats modded (heavily or just abit) or something completly standard (so you can do your own thing, or leave it standard etc)

Hiya To everyone who's replied

Visible Man....as I have only passed my test this week, I'm thinking, although I really would like a brand new Corsa, maybe I'm better off getting a second hand one, just to start off with, just incase I do happen to have a bump or accident it it, I would be really gutted if I had a brand new car and crunched it a few months down the line

Budget, anywhere between 2 - 3k to buy one, then perhaps do it up a bit

Anyone have any idea of the insurance, once you start modding and so on and which mods you have to declare ?

Thank you

xxx

Howdy. Welcome to CS.

For insurance, if you start modding your car you should really declare everything. But some people don't!

Start by emailing them to ian@corsasport.co.uk - he's in charge of all new female members and insists on seeing all the pics first, so he can have first dibs.

howdy, wat better to buy than a corsa for your first/second/third car(appart from a skyline obviously{third car})
GUD IDEA -buy a 1.2 16v sxi to start, then improve gradually as cash allows, by using this site you'll get gud info and instructions on how to modify, in a sensible way, and as the budget allows, and do most of it yourself you will be proud of the end product , stand back and say to yourself 'ive done that'winner every time

hehe...I know the feeling and I'm quite happy for you! my first car was a 1300 8valve corsa...and then my second (and current) car is a Corsa GSi 1.6 8Valve....I'm only 22 but the value for money is great.

I'll be moving to Aus in a year or so, so my car hunting wil begin all over again...I'm after a Toyota Supra and nothing less!

have fun!

p.s Because I'm from South Africa doesn't mean that I can't help with nothing...I can give you great advice on having a really GREAT Braai (BBQ)! lol
