So would my CTR be a realistic match for one of these?

Mid range I would'nt have thought the CTR would stand a chance even against a low power UK model.

If you can't you don't deserve to be driving at all. In a race the CTR won't have any probs but in midrange as ollie says it will. Horses for courses but I'd rather have the Civic than a cheap bottom of the range over popular saloon

Mid range, what is the difference between the CTR and 172?

Scoobies are SHITE.
The lowest spec scooby has only 125bhp and does 0-60 in 10.4 seconds! The next one up..the WRX is 220bhp and does 0-60 somehwere around 6 seconds and the WRX STi has 260bhp and 0-60 in 5.5 seconds.
All would get wasted by a FWD/RWD car with 200+bhp once rolling due to the loss of power through transmisson

Are you stupid?
Once rolling they are at there best with the mid range torque from the turbo.

LOL. They might have torque but so does any 250bhp car. Due to the fact they are 4x4 they lose so much power through transmisson that any similer powered FWD/RWD car would kill them

Transmission losses will be greater on a 4x4 car

uk turbo ranges from 208bhp then the facelift 98 onwards 215bhp
there still not as quick as every1 thinks , altho with a full system + decat can get 30bhp extra no probs.
as for the 125bhp sport the 0-60 is actually 9secs uber_derv ya knob
i hope u dont drive a diesel with a name like that.

Dont be fucking stupid. People talk bollocks about 4x4 transmission loss and its no where near as bad as these ignorant people think. As for the civic type r comments, they will be pretty even once upto and passed 100mph i would imagine. Oh and the lowest spec turbo is 215bhp on the classics and 221bhp on the new ones.
