Ive a mk4 astra, and ive sold it, new owner collecting on sat, this leaves me without a car, but my insurance policy lasts until april next yr!

Can i swap the cover to my mums car until i get a new car? (even though her car already has a seprate policy on it?)

Dont want to cancel as i wont get my ncb in april (if i dont claim in the next 6 months) And will lose my ££ as i paid the premium in full (cheaper at the time)

u cant have to policies on 1 car as if it was written off then both insurance companies would own it but u obviously wouldnt get paid out!
they can also tell if u have insurance for it already!

You're gona have to either cancel your insurance and get a payout, or buy a new car and tranfer insurance onto that

They should be able to put it on hold until you get another car.
Don't know what you'd do about driving your mum's car though cause you'd have to pay for that. I don't think it would be that much to go on your mums insurance though.

cheers ppl, phoned them and they hav suspended the policy (kind of put it on hold) And all i have 2 do is contact them wen i get a new car and the policy will be active again.

And i will still get my ncb in april, assuming i dont claim,

So its all good

So you've still paid for the policy, you're still getting your NCB when it's due, but you haven't got a car to insure the policy against...

... sounds like a con to me! You'd be better off getting a 1.0 Nova or Fester and getting a refund on some of your premium.
