Hi, had a corsa 1.2 8v breeze wen i was 18, kept that 4 a year, got a mk4 astra kept that for 7 months and sold last weekend.
So was kinda thinking of a corsa with c20xe, but sumones just pointed out just how common corsas are, i know at least 6 ppl with corsas, but all 1.2/1.4's with basic modds, and 1 has full kit.
If i was to get one, it would be slight rally theme, white, fairly std bodywork, white wheels and 2.0 16v engine
I think i could do the 2.0 corsa for £3k ish. (buy the car, cheap pre 97 1.2 8v, and the engine, mounts, alloys, suspension etc and modify the xe shafts and hubs to fit)
After having the astra ive learnt newer/better class cars are too much to run (because of abs, tc, and all the other luxury items that cost a fortune when they go wrong) And newish cars depreciate like crazy (i lost way 2 much money in 7 months,)
just that the corsa would be cheap to maintain.
(insurance would be around £1400, tpft at the mo)
but if i did go ahead with my plans, id run the corsa with std engine for 5 months then the c20xe wen im 20 and 2 yrs ncb (so should be wee bit less)
opinions

well i suppose u cant argue with the price mate.
Its just that i feel i may be a bit dissappointed with the performane to cost of insurance ratio.
eg avg 2.0 corsa
0-60 = 7 sec
top speed 130 mph?
and my astra 1.8 sport, grp 7 insurance (£800 fc in ma own name)was:
0-60 = 7.5 sec
top speed = 127mph
would like 2 drive one , or be taken a spin in one before i decide.

much more agrssive than any out of the factory car in that price range, your notice a big diffrence between your astra and the corsa

what modds have you done to get your 1.4 to 136 bhp??
A 1.4 is tempting due to low tax and fairly low insurance when tuned

Where'd you time those figures on your astra mate? And you'd be better off buying one already done tbh, MUCH cheaper. There was one on ebay a couple days ago, not sure if its still on there, but CAN be picked up for peanuts, just ask Matt H!
