ive been thinking of ways around a problem i going to have when fitting the 1.6 engine to the car....
the flange on the exhaust down pipe were it connects to the cat... someone has fecked the threaded holes on it.
anyone got any idea's for getting around this?

bolts stra8t throu?
or drill the threads out completly and weld a nut/s with the same thread on the back of the plate

gunna say just bolt direct thru it ans a nutand washer on the end......mine has a nut on the end aswell as the threaded bit.

yeh i was thinking of nuts on the back on the plate/flange....
i bought some new bolts from vauxhaul for it so i will try and find some nuts to fit the thread on them....
the holes on the CAT are much bigger than the ones on the downpipe.

yeah its meant to move about theres a metal washer that goes in the middle
it made out of lots of strands of metal
youll know it if you saw it

yeh i got the ring thing......
its supposed to move around? oh didnt know that thats what i was trying to avoid incase it fell off or sumthing
