and i dont know why.
was fine this mornin, went to start it this evening, it turns over but wont start. checked the leads and the dizzy cap and arm, they all looked ok from what i could see.
its not battery. cant think whats wrong with it.
any ideas?

its not the immobiliser as i know what noise it makes when that happens.

check all your fuses mate.sounds likr your car isnt getting any fuel.maybe fuel pump fuse?

well the guage says there is fuel, how do i take the pipes off to check?

1.2 8v
its got at least half a tank in there
leads are new, spark plugs are new, checked all the fuses

it sits in the top of the fuel tank.
take the rear bench out and pull it outta the top of the tank. then check its all working ok.
mine packed up when i was driving through dark lanes one night

right ive got a 1.2 8v too
take of the black box ontop of the inlet manifold.... u will see ya injector. on the right hand side there 2 pipes running together into the monifold jsut below the injector. tka ethe REAR pipe off. (get a screwdriver in the clip and pop it)
now have some1 else and hold the pipe and turn the car over for about 2secs, fuel should squirt out. if not its ya fuel pump.
u will need a juberlee clip too put it bk on as they r a pain in the arse too get back on. u could give it ago tho with the stanndard 12 by using some wire cutters.

id suggest putting the pipe in a jar so you dont piss fuel everywhere.
ps i have a 1.2 8v engine sitting here being stripped let me know of any part you need ill see if i have it

thanks adam. had my dad on fone he lives ages away, he says the timing belt may have snapped i bloody well hope not

i have a spare head full of un bent valves
no need to worry.
way to check that is easy undo the top few nuts on the cambelt cover peel the topp outwards a bit and shine a light in
if its loose or not round the cam its snapped or come loose either way your gonna want cheap car parts off me

suprized noone has mentioned starter motor.
if the timing belt had snapped it wouldnt even turn over anymore.

try hitting it with a hammer of rocking car back and forward in gear.. is it turning over
is there a spark
