Is this going to be due to my old dodgy steering rack, or could anything else cause it?
You can move the wheel a fair bit without affecting the wheels at all and im sure this isnt right...

Wrong offset wheels can cause tramlining, as can fooked tracking. Best to replace the cheap bits first before pulling rack to bits.

yeah i know about tramlining, that not what im on about...
You can be on a dead flat perfect piece of road and move the wheel a fair way without affecting the wheels at all, this is deffo play somewhere in the sterring, i just dont know if it means a dodgy rack or if it could be something else loose somewhere i can look at first??

i wanted a corsa without power steering, and thats what i got.......never liked it, especially on small cars.
i found a site a little while ago and was shocked at how cheap the rally ones were.
will try and find it again.
2 and half turns from lock to lock

quickrack is the way to go thats what i have got and only cost £125 i think from TAS http://www.tas.uk.com/. 2 1/2 turns lock to lock but it is a little hard but you do get used to it and builds up the muscles.
I think the play in the rack is just the way it is and not that there is a problem as my old standard corsa steering rack did this.
