Trying to find out what processor is in this machine im building its P3, but thats all I know installed Win2K on it no problem but when I look at system info it doesn't tell you like XP does...

Any suggestions?

go to the intel site and see if there is a little program to identify the processor - i know amd has one, so i wouldnt be suprised if intel didnt have one also

google for CPU-Z


tis good, tells you Everythin!! saves faffin about with BIOS screens n shit too!

paul - copy it to a floppy disc, its about 200-300 k or there abouts!

can you hit delete on startup then? get into the bios screen? It'll tell you in there if you just have a wizz round all the menus.

just disable the silent/quick boot option or it might be display post messages
