Sorry to post shite, but hey-ho...
Ive been in an apprenticeship for 18 months now,at a firm of accountants, and am really starting to loose interest. i have recently been moved to the 'other office'. no one really talks to them etc, we're the outsiders. i wasnt really sure what i wanted to do, but just wanted out of college, so i went to work for my dad's mate for a week. 18 months and im still there, making tea, being used as a general slave. If anything needs to be found in the cupboard etc i have to do it. All this is done for a tad over minimum wage. i get about £8k a year.
The alternative would be to go and work in a call centre for a year or so and get them to pay for my training to become a motgage advisor and then go and work for my dads company as a mortgage advisor, then building myself up to become a financial adviser, with a view to taking over the company one day.
I just feel as though im going to be stuck doing the same thing day in day out. i look over my office and see the 38 year old bloke doing what im doing. i WONT be doing this kind of shit in 20 years.
Sorry for the essay, but what would you do if you were in this position?

I finished my Accountancy apprenticeship in August after three years. I do a whole range of stuff at work and get involved in all sorts.
I'd get another job mate cos if they aren't letting you do actual accounting/financial stuff after 18 months then I doubt they ever will

They are but only to a certain extent. im doing small partnership and sole trader accounts. but its getting monotonous now. i brought it up in my review and they just fobbed me off

I'd seriously look for another job mate......
as for the call centre........I doubt they would pay for you to do a mortgage course.
Couldn't you go to your dads company now as a trainee mortgage adviser, and get them to pay for your training.
At least you have some financial experience mate having done accountancy for 18 months......least they can say is no

actually working in a call centre can be quiet rewaerding but also quiet stressful as you get loads of ppl shouting at you.
Personally i've never worked in one, nor would i choose to work in one!
