think it just makes the screens flicker - like you get off a pc monitor or whatever when a text is about to arrive.

You're allowed to use them whilst in the air but on landing and taking off they have to be switched off in case they intefere with radio etc.

I thoguht it was something like using them in a petrol station the fact that they have a minute chance of sparking or something.

I doubt it'd make a slight bit of difference using one on a plane, it's all just hype.

But yeah, aint meant to use it

i forgot to turn off me phone last summer when i wason the plane.. we were bout an hour into the flight and i remembered that i didn't turn it off!! Shit me load.

But leaving ya phone on AND actually getting in touch with poeple on it is very dangerous!

read the link above. They are going to have a small antena to send the call via satalites or summit. Reducing the level of interference.

TBH i hate flying and if i saw someone cocking around with a phone on the same plane as me, i would snap the thing in half.

I think its dangerous and not worth the risk to send a stupid txt saying "hello howz u? txt bk" or a stupid phone call.

Wrong, no phones allowed at any time in the aircraft.

They use inflight telephones which are available in business class and most major airlines economy class.

As stated before, all phone signals will be transferred via comlink much like inflight telephones, and extra shielding for sensitive parts like the cockpit and system arrays. However, you will get raped for call charges by using them
