Went to look at a mini today, not sure how much i should offer for it?? Really want it tho!

Has a kit on it and bucket seats inside but i doubt that will affect the price
Condition is quite poor, needs work

Engine is sound, just bodywork and lots of rust
Guy wants about 450 for it, is this takin the piss?

Buckets are prob worth a big slice of the cash you'd pay out by the looks of it... go for it, whack a metro turbo lump in too

it has a metro 1.3 in it at the mo, whats the turbo? will it fit in easily enough?

Yeah, it's near as dammit a straight swap, turbo engine is 1275 with a T3 Garrett turbo shoved on. My mate used to have one, was fuckin quick.
1275 Turbo Intercooled, Race this and that, uprated other stuff, had 2 inches suspension travel all round, etc etc

Have just found the full spec for it...

Approx 1" suspension travel on Spax (fully adjustable)

Braided goodridge hoses
Brake bias valve
Larger front rad
Straight thru zorst
Race/rally clutch and pressure plate
Low ratio diff
Ran about 80-120bhp depending on the boost

my GF has 1996 mini cooper 1300i chipped, port N' polish, s/s manifold/exhaust, koni adjustables, sports coil/plugs/leads k&n ind kit,
i used to hate the things but after working on and driving hers i quite like them. quick of the lights too, gives the saxos some 
get it mate they so cheap and easy to do up

just been out in it and i loved it! i had to have it. she is sitting on my drive outside now will get some pics of it when its dry and ive cleaned it!
there is no rust on her at all except for a little bit on the top of the engine block. but nothin to cry about. she is quite nippy too, i was quite surprised! Paid 400 notes in the end, guy wouldnt budge on price

ohh yes that's normal all part of the fun the suspension is so hard that's why they handle so well
