It appears my XE has 2sump gaskets, obvisously one of top of the other for some reason or maybe they are like this, never fitted one so i wouldn't know or has it been done for a reason?

theres 2. one goes either side off the baffle plate

The 8V baffle and gaskets are much easier to fit. You might need shorter sump bolts though as its thinner.

What i mean is.........I can see a rubber one and a cork one above that, like 2 put together.........

From bottom up it goes Sump > gasket > Baffle plate > gasket > Block.
So you need the 2 seperate gaskets to go either side of the baffle plate to make it seal.

I've heard of people playing with doubling up sump gaskets when trying to get them to seal when leaking... might not be the case with yours.

mine just had a service and had two gaskets on it, was pissing out oil. changes it for a normal single gasket and its stopped leaking

dont bother with 8v gaskett use 16v ecotec gaskett its a rubber gaskett instead of shitty cork
