Thinking of buying the 3.0 TD sport, anyone had experiences with X5's? Need something with big boot etc for work and don't want to be driving an estate
Thinking of black with tints and the 19s which come as standrd on Sport models

Can only chose between BMW, Merc, Volvo, Vauxhall, VW, Honda. Don't need anything Sporty and a truck doesn't really take my fancy

was gonna say, other than "Me old mans got one, or my dads mate..." I dont think there will be many X5 owners on here.
If your looking at buying one then its probably best to research them properly...?

Maybe worth considering the Merc and Volvo alternatives if you like those. Also VW do the Tourag, which you can get with a V10 Diesel .

X5 is shite, looks alright, but its drives like a pissing 10 ton truck and unless you spend serious cash and get the 4.4 or 4.8 is about as fast as one as well
however, there comfy and you feel like a right upper class toff, but apart from that i dont think there all that
rather spend the cash on a RS6 - lots of space and does 0-62 in 4.7 secs and will make your evo look like a shopping trolley

Don't need anything quick or too bad on petrol so petrol versions don't interest me. Don't think an RS6 will make my Evo look like a shopping trolley either with the spec it will have shortly
Not really keen on Volvos TBH will look into the VW though

im talking about standard for standard on the RS6vEvo mate
but yea, i had a quick raz in my mates dads X5 and it was a 4.4 jobby and it didnt feel right to drive, was like driving a big VAN/Mini Truck..although it shifted fairly well...but like you say, fuel is pretty bad - he got about 18-20mpg on a average day, little higher when cruising
Hence why the 3lt D will be pretty slugish
but tbh, unless you want to show off in it mate and drive it for the typical penis extention then i wouldnt really bother with it.
i would really look at a propper 4x4 pickup, like a mit warrior...never driven one, but they look great and have shed loads of space

The X5 D isn't too bad performance wise, lots of torque as well 0-62 in 8.2 which isn't disgustingly bad

no, its slower than that...trust me, it will be slow. the 4.4 was slow at thats suppose to be 6. something to 62. The worst thing is you can hear the fuel getting sucked up and the bank account balance rapidly going down
but it wasnt my car, so i wasnt that worried that i was giving it some stick
but you seem to have already gone for the X5 even before posting this thread, so why ask?
but if you dont want the twat/penis extention image, there seriously get something that has a lot of boot space and has abit of performance to it - like an estate car or a propper 4x4 instead of the "school kid drop off" trucks like the X5/X3, M class etc

I don't think you understand, I can't order half of the cars that have been mentioned above - the X5 is one of a VERY few cars I'm keen on that I can actually order. I always have a penis extention with the Evo thanks
