If i learned one thing last night its i'm sh1te a 1/4 miles....

fair enough i won both races but first gear was a complete waste of time cos all the car did was wheel spin.

so whats your secret to wining 1/4 miles Runs....

P.S its very addictable....

if your using proper timing gear, the trick is to go when the lights are still on orange, cos by the time you have reacted they will be green.

Some people launch in 2nd gear (no need on a 1.6 16v with no mods)

But you just have to feather the throttle so as not to spin up the wheels in first, then you can floor second without many probs

your gonna need to get to know your engines peaks and pick 'ups, (Ie. where in the rev range it starts to loose traction!) and how to eliminate the dreaded wheelspin!!

Not driver, we proved this.

F13CR in mine, F15 in Lees, he has 135bhp, I have 110bhp.

I believe its because my car is lighter

mines a twat for spinning in first and second and third when its wet

still beat my mate though even though i span for what seemed like hours

he thinks his 1.5D is fast

it wasnt so bad being an auto. You couldnt get that high a revs sitting on the spot (without pushing the car over the line or spinning on the spot)

Be sympathetic with the throttle. Try a 2nd gear launch too.
