And just for 3CM... lol

Everything within a few miles, beaches

coal which built the Rhondda Valley

There were no roads here until 1850, then in the space of a few years the Rhondda became one of the largest and best known coal mining areas in Britain.
Now the coal mines have gone and the Rhondda is a cleaner place, but the great Welsh musical tradition remains - the brass bands and the choirs, like the Treorchy Male Voice Choir

One of many sheep looking down at rhondda lol

The Rhondda valleys - the Rhondda Fach (little) and Rhondda Fawr (big) - were synonymous with coalmining in the boom years of the 19th century. These narrow, steep-sided valleys were known far and wide as the source of the 'black damond'. Tightly packed terraced communities, such as Treorchy and Treherbert, grew up alongside scores of mines in the confined valley floor - the only place where it was feasible to build. How times have changed. The last pit in the Rhondda closed at the end of 1990. Massive land reclamation schemes have wiped away the debris of decades of intensive coalmining. The hillsides have been planted with conifer forests. The mountaintops, untouched by industry, remain wild, unspoilt places.
