on my astra, when i start the car up in the cold i can hear a bubbling water noise which sounds like its from behind the dash, it only does it when i rev the engine not when its idling.
Could it just be the water running through the system or something more serious?

could be headgasket or an airlock... run it with the cap off the xpansion tank

cheers mate, hopefully its not the head gasket as theres no sign of mayo looking stuff in the oil etc, i checked that all this morning
i didnt check the water for a while (stupid i know) and it got a bit low, could that cause an airlock???

tbh honest i;ve had that noise b4 and it has been headgasket, but i've had it a few times since and it has gone away, give the rad pipes a squeeze with expansion tank open.
dunno what it does, but u feel technical

yeh i read your thread below dav. Hopefully its not the head gasket and just an airloc which will go away or something coz its in a cheap car that i bought to get me around until i get my corsa back and id rather not pay out any money on it

the noise has stopped now, must of been an airlock

I heard a noise like that for a month or so mate and then it stopped must of been a week or two later and the inevetable happened the head gasket went but fixed now and cars running a treat

If it has gone the it might be air bubbles going around the heater matrix.

yeh could be something like that, there was no water in the tank when i noticed the problem so maybe that had something to do with it
