For a couple of months now ive been having a problem with my car reving by its self..
For example, if im driving along and have to slow down for traffic or a junction, when I put the clutch down my car revs, even though my foot isnt touching the accelerator...the only way to stop it is to raise the clutch while in gear - as to almost stall it, then when I put it down again its fine.
It can rev up about 3500rpm if I leave it (though not always).
Anyone any ideas? Does it sound as simple as the accelerator cable sticking?

I had this with my car, tho i replaced a lot of stuff on it, the main problem was the CTS. Try that for starters, it seems to cause shitloads of problems with these engines. Either that or its just a good scapegoat
