you noticed, my dad had a tuned mk1 escourt, 2 tunned 3.0 essex v6 capris, xr31's, FRST and a tuned 1.6 sport fezzy

all im hoping is someone builds a nova thats faster, only thing whiting reach is Rick drapers nova, but i think 170mph is out of the question even for that

becasue i bought a corsa as my first car , cant sell it now as ive doen to much to it, ill stop spending £ on it soon and get something ford related, like a 280 capri brooklands, just need the 5k for it

You can easy hit more than 170mph in a Corsa/Nova on the road. I'll take you out in mine and rip it down the motorway if you like....

But doing 180, and on Brunters is something else! You have to have awesome acceleation, and gearing. Also some top notch brakes and balls of steal to go with it!

Hats off to an immense achievement!

Think its a GT30 turbo IIRC

Looks to have been TIG welded - thats what TIG welded joints look like.

Engine pipework looks fine to me!

I doubt their corsa did 174mph on the confinds of Brintingthorope. I'd be skipping hoops if mine hit more than 160 on there. I'd love a crack at it though!

For definate on the road mine will pull past 174mph. Wish I had a rev counter that went past 7k, as it hits 7k then stops, but keeps revving. So the quickest I can definently say I have been is 175 for sure

No speedo, so I calculate speed off revs, I'm sure if I do my sums right, 7000 rpm in sixth on an F28 with 195/45/16 is 174/175 ish?

If I had a bit of cash lying round at the moment I'd take the opertunity to bin the management, and put a GT28 turbo on. But I don't like leaving myself a bit short (I'm a tight git LOL)
