Corsa GSI = 109bhp early model/106bhp late model.

Saxo = 120bhp.

what are the s1's then? as i was looking at parkers, and said that the earlier one was actually quicker than the later.

The S1 rallye was a 1.3 8v
The S2 rallye was a 1.6 8V

The S2 had more bhp and lbft, but the S1 weighed less and had a closer ratio box.

theyre both 100bhp but the 1.6 will be smoother due to the extra cc, i suppose the 1.3 will be slightly lighter.

S2 106 Rallye's are 103bhp @ 6200rpm, 97lbs/ft @ 3500rpm std.

(865kg's) 0-60 in 8.5sec, 121 top speed

S1 106 Rallye's are 100bhp @ 7200rpm, 80lbs/ft @ 5400rpm std.

(820kg's) 0-60 in 9.3sec, 113mph top speed

And contrary to the parkers guide the S2's are faster.

My cars engine mods are...
Green cold air ind kit
Piper 270Ral cam (280deg duration)
Vernier pulley
Dastek
GMC 4-1 manifold
Peugeot Sport Grp N exhaust system

My car has around 140bhp @ 6600rpm & 123lb ft torque @ 5500rpm.

Having driven both S1 & S2 i'd say in std form the S1 in more of a drivers car with its screamer engine.

Wait till our tweaked S1 Rallye breaks cover, 1.6 16v engine, 40mm TB's, cams etc.

My VTR is so much, in fact so so much faster than my SRi 8v, and my Sport 16v. I wish it had traction control because its got absolutely no grip under accelaration
