My drivers door isnt shutting very smoothly so whats the best way of adjusting the catch on the shell of the car

didn't realise they had adjustment
maybe you need to replace the hinge pins?

on the body of the car u undo the bolts holding the catch , these move around slightly so u have a little adjustment there.Move them till the door closes smoothly and tighten up tho they always need to be done sooner or later.
