im getting some 40mm lowering springs for my car soon.

do i need to change the shocks? and if so what too?

the shocks are standard, will they run for a month or so with the new springs? or should i wait?

yea they will run but poorly, tbh mate if its only a month i would wait, at least then you aing gotta take the struts off again to fit the new dampers.

-40mm is fine for a while with good condition shocks, but if the shocks are already tired don't expect a decent ride.
