Has anybody fitted these speakers in 17"s into there corsa C ?
It looks like the windows wont go fully down if there in.

You should have got a spacer kit from auto leads. Brings it out far enough to make them fit

Can anyone recomment some 17" speakers that will fit in on the autoleads adapters and not foul on the window. Cause i really cant be arsed to make pods for them.
So any speakers you could recommend would be gd!

in a corsa B you have 65mm depth MAX on the mid-range woofer, otherwise it will get into the window track etc etc.
on a C, im not sure, but i believe its slightly deeper with autolead adaptors
And from what Mark has said magic (and from the picture) you need to do abit of fibreglassing around the original speaker part to bring it out about 20mm or so. If you cant be asked making them, then you can buy a pair of 17cm door pods, but there around 140 quid a set

ok so 65mm mounting depth MAX, is this WITH or with OUT the Autolead speaker adaptors? as if it is with out then im sure it will fit as all i need is 5mm, and im sure the adaptors will give more than this!!
got this from the alpine website for the SPR176a speakers...
Woofer Mounting Depth (in) : 2-3/4"
Woofer Mounting Depth (mm) : 70mm
Woofer Mounting Diameter (in) : 5-3/4"
Woofer Mounting Diameter (mm) : 145mm

nope WITH
hence why i couldnt get a set of 17cm PG comps in there, not only wouldnt the magnet fit through the hole (can be solved by making it bigger) but the depth was over by about 7mm, so i had to go for 5cm versions of infinity comps, which fit perfectly.
At worst mate, just try them
But if it is abit of a tight squeeze, then spin the woofer around so the connections are on the bottom, then feed the cable through the bottom middle leg of the autolead adaptors (when you see them you will know what i mean) and then HOPEFULLY the connections will sit in the plastic bit of the adpator - thats what i had to do on my infinity's as the cable kept sticking to the window (after it had been raining etc) and ripping out the connections on the back of the woofer
EDIT: Btw, my current comps press right up to the grill (i had to do alot of sanding on the back of the grils to get rid of the vertical support bars, which have helped alot)...but you could bring them out further by placing MDF rings or something on top of the adaptors......but you wont have a hells in chance of getting the door pocket back on, without ripping out the whole grill section in the door pockets and dooing something cosmetically to make it look nice etc (Which would mean using fibreglass etc etc).

oh i see
yeah i could easliy make the clearance depth with some MDF etc but i was also thinking that the original door pod may not go back on!!!!
i guess i gotta go for the 13cm version they are only 64mm mounting depth and still 160watts! so still packs a punch, but would of liked the 200watt 17cm ones!

aye, your gonna have to go for the smaller jobbies if you wish to keep the original door pockets intact etc However, i recommend that you take a sander to the vertical supports on the back of the grills and then wet/dry paper them smooth, to stop them digging into the rubber surround of the speakers (as it had started to causes the rubber to split very slightly, which isnt good)
And btw, the 16.5cm versions are 50wRMS and the 13cm versions are 40wRMS...but yea they will pack abit of a punch, but i would recommend that you still get a decent amp connected to them (rated at around atleast 20wRMS more than the comps RMS rating and drop the gains a tad etc to stop distortion etc)...
eitherway mate, have fun
