i left my job on 31st Dec. I'd handed in my notice to end 6th Jan but they didnt want me on headcount for this year, for target reasons and stuff so they paid me until 6th but i dont have to go in. start my new job monday!!

I get paid for them anyway...

What they mean is dont take them, so they have to pay you for those 10 days, so you will get an extra 10 days pay in your wages
