ok at the minute i have 2 jbl 12" subs running off a 1100W jbl amp. i have them almost sold to make way for some new stuff.
i was planning on 2 maybe 3 depending on what way i design the build alpine type r's and run them off an alpine digital amp. i already have a set of infinity components up front and i will amp them possibly with a vibe 2channel i have in the garage.
i read in a different post someone saying the type r's wernt really worth the money??
i was looking at the on ebay for £100 each an they are brand new!
what would you's recomend? i wouldnt mind something different!
i dont really want to spend more than £800

You doing a nice boot install. If not buy one better quality subwoofer and amp and it will sound much better. As for the Alpine Type R's not heard any bad things about them. There magnets are pretty big though. So measure the depth before you buy them. At £100 i would say thats good value, look at www.caraudiosecurity.com as they sell them for £100. And find yourself a mono amp that does around 600-800 rms @ 2 ohms.

You will also need an amp for your components.

whats everyones opinions on jl subs and amps. was looking at them on the net they look well.
has anyone got anything good about them to say??
what about rockford fosgate??
if anyone could give as much help as possible as im not sure which way to go!!

alpines are not all that good tbh if you know about ice gear. if you want some bass that sounds ok then there all good.
My advice if u can, wait till april ish when the new type-R's come out or go for JL new W1V2's...

will alpine be changing their image do you know? what type of money are the jl's?
i just want something with a good powerfull bass which will possibly look well in a build!

A friend of mine had 2 alpine type r's running off a kicker amp... they sound awesome.. it all depends on the amp really.. and the boxes u put the subs in.. if u want it too look good then try to go for one make i.e alpine subs and alpine amps, but like i said get a good quality amp and they will be sweet...
