I did have the car lowered on just 40mm Spax Springs, with my alloys. The bumpiness got too annoying so i bought a Spax Damping Adjustable Kit, the one which is about £350.
I noticed a slight improvement, but not a lot. Its still really bumpy, and its starting to do my head in.
I've got 15" Wheels, with 195/45 R15 Tyres
They are 6.5JJ, with an offset of ET40.
I've got the dampers set to the softest setting, so can't see how its still so bumpy.

Thats life dude, think ya self lucky ya didnt get Koni's now they are well ard, lol, just gonna have to put up im afraid, all lowered suspension will give a hard ride, Eibach springs give the best for comfort and handling, but ya spax damapers might put a stop to that
Oh and if ya get 17's with low profile 40 tyres it will be like not having suspension, lol, turst me i know

So when you say its bumpy what do you mean exactly...

When you hit a pothole you get a hard THUMP from the suspension under compression?

When you go over a bump the car seems to want to 'bouce' into the air?

The car never settles - i.e twitching slightly up and down all the time?

What happens when you push down on the front/rear suspension - does it travel far?

is it front or rear?

Mine i used to get a bang when i hit a pot hole, like i had no suspension
It used to feel like bouncing in the air
But the suspension was rock hard if ya pushed down on front and rear, ya couldnt move it!!!!

If you want some confort fit Vogtland -30mm or H&R -30mm with black billies. the billies are only 15% uprated.
Or www.formelk.de confort suspension. The rest of the setups are rock hard like mineKoni+eibach=racing suspension, the dampers are adjustable between very hard and ...plain rock solid

The thing that makes me laugh is people who run 60mm + lower on regular style springs/dampers and expect it to handle and be comfortable.

Bumpstops play a massive part when it comes to lowering, too soft and they wont absorb the shocks enough, to hard and you'll bounce all over. I'd never ever lower a car unless it was using coilover springs and I change the srings around to find what works best - thats what ive done on my Corsa - its took a few years but now its spot on!!

That's right TOMAS.
But you can buy KW V3, because it's spot on, but you miss the fun of trying to find wht works best...I guess

Trust, if i'd done it again i'd have gone for my current setup stragint away! KW V3 aint the best, mine is Nah messin but cant say ive tried them. My suspension setup has prolly cost me best part of a grand on my Corsa

FRONT:
Harry Hockley S.Steel Grp A coilover bodies with Bilstein 40mm Tarmac inserts. Eibach 10"x 2.25" 275lb springs upfront. T.A.S alloy eccentric topmounts, Powerflex polly bushes. Bilstein rubber bumpstops.

REAR:
Spax RSX 28pt adjustable extra short dampers with Spax progrssive 60mm RSX springs. Spax rubber bumpstops.

If its bangingon potholes then it sounds like your bumpstops arent upto much. You need uprated bumpstops - Jamex do some rubber ones but you need to go for ones which are foam or rubber and have a 20mm bore size and approx 30-40mm in length. DO NOT fit powerflex bumpstops -they are way to hard and will cause the front end to bounce.

KW V3 can handle a CORSA with 300 bhp, is the best off the shelf kit available.
your kit is pretty impressive. But how is the ride quality? Hard has a rock?
Can you live with bumpy roads?

im on my 3rd suspension set up, all seem as bumpy as one another. without coilovers, i dont think there is much you can do , i guess its alot to do with it bein such a short wheelbase

i got the same spax kit on mine (psx adj. kit @40mm)
Seems fine i guess, is fairly bumpy but i dont mind... can feel what the road is doing! Does bang on potholes too...
when i fitted a front anti roll bar it did smoothen it out somewhat, could try that? should help the handling more too.
other than that i guess you'll jus have 2 bite the bullet!

No its not rock hard, its very firm. People who describe there setups as 'rock hard' I believe are running too soft a springs and are riding in the bumpstops (bottoming out) - mines a fair way off the bumpstops and the harder springs mean that it takes a lot for them to bottom out. Its by far the comfiest setup ive ever had and the grippiest. being Group A suspension its bulit proof too, good enough for the works rally novas and corsa's...

I know smart car in Nottingham used to sell them, not sure if they still do 0115 9229944, as I say you need a 20mm bore and at least 30mm-45mm high for the front.
