not quite, you can chip them too just over 200 bhp, also add a k04 turbo and you can add another 20 bhp on just from that.

the cupra r is 180bhp

so if the tt 225 is the same engine as that, just with a different map, then surely 225bhp is possible, unless the tt 225 has a diff turbo etc

The 225 TT has 2 intercoolers and a larger turbo i believe.

Might have been one of the newer 1.8 20vt with VVT and the KO3s turbo. They usually make around 230bhp when remapped.

They do have TC, but its mince. On/off switch basically, works better when you turn it off and use your right foot less like on/off.

mk3 Cupra as standard is about 156bhp and 155lb/ft.

Remapped will make around ~200bhp and ~200lb/ft as standard, should cost around £400-£600.

Stick on a FMIC, KO3s turbo, 3" down pipe + race cat along with 3" exhaust and a custom remap and you could probably get around 240bhp and 260lb/ft. That will cost much more though.

rather than using the k03s from the 180 version most people upgrade too the k04 which is also a direct fit which is on the 225 version.

VW's are different to the seats. the later VW's got VVT and a slighly larger turbo. that would be the same engine thats in the seat leon cupra

I was sure that standard torque was 180lb/ft?

As mentioned the TT has VVT, but internals on the Ibiza AYP engines are forged also.

I would have taken the pepsi challenge with an XE Corsa when i had my cupra.

That's what I was gonna ask Considering 106 gti's are only a little behind 2.0 16v corsa's ... so surely quicker than the ibiza turbo?

You guys are really underestimating these beeza cupras i tell thee! Im sure standard torque is 180lb/ft (will check when i get home), and this is the lightest VAG car with the 1.8T engine.

Many people underestemate them SetH. I often get people trying to have a go but the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

The Ibiza Cupra uses the 1.8T engine but the kk03 turbo on which is smaller than both the Leon Cupra R or Audi TT 225 engine.

The turbo's can be swapped but it's hassle and expense. The Std 156bhp 1.8T kk03 engine can get upto about 220-225 bhp with a remap. It's usually only about 210 ish but with all the torque and power coming in a big installment!

There is Ibiza Cupra's that have had the full works, Jabasport IHI turbo conversion etc etc running 340+ BHP. It's a shit load of money but hella fun!

I've got both cars. An Ibiza Cupra R and a 2.0 16v XE'd Tigra with power cap, induction kit and straight thru pipe and the Ibiza is quicker. The ibiza was rolling roaded at 202bhp in std form.
