I've been getting this shit too. Parents wanna know why i keep changing my car. The fact is i don't live with them and i work hard for the money so why try and tell me what to do.

Mum has a C3 on the drive which she paid 11k for and won't use or even sell. Then she moans because she has to tax and insure it And i waste money

the reason they moan is because modifying cars is in the end a waste of money. It gives you pleasure fair enough, but costs a lot

Ive been there and had the grief, but now just get it from the Mrs

i get the same crap no matter what it is i buy for the car even a can of oil.... "what a waste of money" "why dont you buy a new car"

when i was doing my engine conversion they were like "it will never run again" "your after wrecking the car" soon shut them up when it started

they never seem to say anything to my brother or sister in law when they come in saying i had to spend 600 quid getting the car repaired

I used to get hassle off my dad - do off my mum to a degree - but I dont drink too much - dont smoke - and dont piss my money away - so when I work hard for it - they cant do nething to stop me spending it on what I want - I dont owe ne money (apart from student loan) but the car owes me nothing
On top of which I found pics of my dads first car - a mk2 escort -and he had it resprayed every 4 months - a different colour ( mums dad was a sprayer) he stripped the interior, rollcaged - cut the springs, and was first one in his area to fit a centre console into a car - he didnt do ne tat to it - but basically produced a rally car rep for the road which was immaculate

seeing as he was into modding - and I found out - hes now not allowed to comment - plus he came to donny with me last year - as I was a bit depressed didnt want to go cause Id just split up with the missus after 5 years and couldnt care about the car -but we got it ready together - and my dad showed off the car more than me - ne chav tom, dick or harry who came up asking questions I ignored and made me dad take the piss
now he loves it and wants to do everything on the car - hes telling me to get the interior retrimmed - the outside needs two toning, morrettes and he wants to help me fit the new engine and doors etc - its his 3rd midlife crisis - living ti through me wooh
