Ok I was pissing about under the bonnet, and I decided to figure out how to tighten my clutch cable and get rid if the bit of play I get before biting.

I think I found where the clutch cable reaches the gearbox, and it enters a little bracket thingy with a sprin in it, with a bolt coming out of the end closest to the front bumper. I imagine to tighten it I need to adjusta nut on that bolt, but I have no nut!

am i barking up the wrong tree or should I go looking around or a nut that fits?

there is no nut. just take that big plastic bulk off, and spin it round to tighten it up.

there should be some sort of U-Nut the end of the cable on the threads...

so imagine it like this:

| |
\...........|
where it goes to the left abit it should sit nicely on the clutch bearing release arm.......
