Ok got my car back from garage and it still idles upto 3500rpm !!!!
they have tested all the faults that came up but they cant find anything wrong. They tested laods of new parts but nothing worked.
What else could it be? really need it running as i have to get to work/uni!!!!
Could the ECU be screwed? even tho theres no fault code showing up now?
Air leak on velos?
Spec:
1.6 16v Ecotec
Velos Torq tube
Unichip
Exhaust, K&N etc etc

AAC, or IAC whatever its called on Corsa's been checked?
Nothing obvious like something cought in the butterfly or throttle cable jammed/obstructed?

they have tested the ICV but said it made no difference.
Throttle body is all ok going to have a look at throttle cable tho but i dont thinks its this because if it was the revs wouldnt drop when i press the clutch in then go up. surely they would stay high all the time unless it 'unstuck' itself

the clutch is connected to the ICV isnt it.....

ICV is the motor that goes into the throttle body and controls the cars idling. Tested this as its an obvious starting point but no luck
The unichip was disconnected for about a week then replaced and not mapped since, could this be the problem with it?

Take the air pipe off going to the TB and put your hand over it to pull the idle down.
Disconnect the unichip to take it out the
equation
Get a canb of WD40 and spray it round any seals for the inlet, if the idle magiclaly drops then you can find where the WD is being sucked in.
Orterwise, I'd say disconnect the ICV and it should get sucked shut, then you can see if it's high after that has been tried.

^^ thanks mate. Im thinking the same as i have no fault codes.
Right, i have checked the upper to lower manifold and no leak. But the velos has 2 square gaskets one each end.
The bolts on the header tank end of the torq tube are a bit loose but wont tighten up any more could this be it? will such a small gap cause this? and if so how come it only sometimes does it?
Should i use a sealent around the join on the torq tube? if so what
will best stuff to use be?

there is a small pipe, about 8 cm diameter, mine has split twice, causing high revs. its on the right hand side of the engine, not sure what its called tho. you have to remove the inlet to get to it

I split this hose myself when fitting my inlet manifold.

i have velos torq tube so my throttle body is on the left as you look at the engine. near the air filter and bolts straight onto the inlet without any rubber hosing si it cant be that

If i disconnect the Unichip it wont run atall will it? because isnt this wired into the ECU? therefore i will have to rewire the 'unichips' wires back into the ecu so it is standard.
Which air pipe do i disconnect? and what should 'get sucked shut'???

UP, still idling all over the place.
tried dsconnecting ICV and reconnecting it, checked all vacumm pipes etc etc
ECU light came on and now falshes on and off eratically
