i need to connect a lap counting devise to my lap top.


the lap top only has USB's and the lap counter has a serial connnector.

so i bought a cabble that allows me to connect the serial to the USB, but i need my lap top to reconise that as a COM. how do i do this?

You can't just do it with a cable -- you need a proper converter (which comes with its own drivers for Windows)
