raspy it sounds sweet ideling, and low/high revs, but around 3-4 revs it rasps! no holes or anything! before it was decat it sounded good. its a full powerflow system, i had made up 2 years back.

what can be done to solve this

where do u put the silencer where the de-cat pipe is?

If you're going to put a silencer in you may aswell just put the cat back in.

The idea of removing the cat is that it's an expensive part to replace and when they go, they smell eggy.
A cat section will normally be a lot more restrictive than a silencer.

did you fit the decat with exhaust paste? when i first put mine on it had a tinny rattle, refitted it and it sounded like a banger racer , so took it off

i might do that, but my mot is in june, so put it back on for then, then leave it!

Miltek do performance CATs, maybe give that a go, very expensive though

you ver looked thru a cat and a performance silencer thungy! the cat is very dense, going to be alot more restrictive than a silencer that you can see thru!!!

andy you engine does not even need a cat and should not have one its and early engine before cats came in, so u wont need it in for mot!

de cats do mate car sounds louder and raspy, i am ripping one off orange car to put on green one! will some modifing i think:-S

i agree with this, my first de-cat was raspy as fook, put on the janspeed........no rasps!

When I decatted my 1.6 it sounded good etc on idle like yours but a bit raspy higher up..I just left it..Never bothered me...........
