would it be worth doin a 1.8 conversion.
i have been offered a x18xe, which is the ecotec 1.8 16v 115bhp engine. v tuning do a metch kit but i was wondering if it was worth doing?
are there many tuning products for this engine and would i see a decent power gain??

astra sri i beleive thats the mk4
same engine as in corsa sri, again is worht it yes, but for not much more you have 150 bhp on tap and higher tuning potential

Newer engine, ask painz about tuning bits i know u can get a decent inlet and it will unlock a few bhp.
But as brad says XE is popular for a reason

wasnt this engine in the mk3 astra 1.8 16v sport? or was that a different one?

yer i know the xe is popular because of the power there and avalible with small tuning but i fancy something different and already rang a few insurance companys and its workin out slighlty cheaper as well. as i'm a student i want a faster car but also need to be cheaper than an xe

I'm sure you could put it on throttle bodies... Get a bigger inlet or make one e.t.c..... Would be worth it. Have you looked into wiring the engine in though?

not yet, still lookin at it, i know that v tuning to a mtech fitting kit and theres pics of one so i'm guessin it can be done
