right, going to cut a very long story short, so.
I have a set of lifters here that were run between 1-2k rpm for 2 hours on an engine that had very little oil getting to the top end, some of them are as they were when i bought them (from autovaux) others have the little squashy bit jammed into the bucket, if you know what i mean. Are these stuck ones now faulty ie i cant put them in another cylinder head?

Also, wheres this little fella come from? It fell out and i didnt see where it came from. Is it just a locating pin thing for the rocker cover? or out of one of the lifters or valve spring area?

the compressed one doesn't look too clever.get a air line in there and blast the mofo out!!

the random bit looks like one of the locating dowels from the block that you sit the head over.
i don't remember the head having any to locate the rocker cover. the gasket lines that up.

locating pin for cylinder head on the block... usually 2 of them

also check the haynes manual... i know with the hydraulic lifters on my old 8v it showed you how to dismantle & clean them, so whether its the same for those ones i duno, but is worth tryin!
Otherwise yeah replace em.
