Been talking some of the stuff off my car today to have a better look at the damage, and was just wanting some opinions as to if you think its going to be fixable (or worth fixing) and what you think needs doing etc...
Here is the car when we started...

The wheels were pointing in different directions, and the tyre was touching the coilovers. After looking at it, I think that it might just be the camber is realllly far out after being knocked, but im not sure.

The rest of the damage was to the engine bay really, i took the wing off cos its not going to be fixable. Heres a couple of pics of the damage, any input at all would be appreciated, im still trying to decide where to go from here - if its worth fixing, or buy another corsa etc etc.

Cheers guys!

Also if the car has been written of when you come to sell it you will have to declare this and it will be worth nothing!

Best of transfering the parts to a new shell IMO

If the wheel is sitting further under the car then the shaft must have gone somewhere - is the box OK?

If its been declared a write-off then yeah, more difficult to insure and sell it on if you need to.

Didn't you say that you weren't going to go valver with the next incarnation though?

Might be an opportunity to find a nice 1600 Sport or something? Might make more sense in the long term.

The whole wheel wasnt sittign further under, the top of it was, and the bottom was further out if you get me, more like \ that. Gearbox was on the way out anyway though cos they had to drill through the casing the re attatch the box after the mount snapped and bent. I wouild like to go the two litre route again, but i would like to have the engine tidied up a bit before putting it back in a car. Also want a frotn bumper thats a bit higher off the ground, and a bit more subtle, and porbably 16" wheels for handling, cos i noticed a big differerence with the 17s.

I'm in the same situation, did this back in december and have decided to spend the £2000 odd repair bill on the GSI and transfer everything over.

Not that much to transfer over, wheels, suspension, exhaust, a few interior bits and then stripped and sold for parts

think im gonna have to get a new car then by the looks of it! Either a really cheap shell, and start from scratch, or something already done up, and then swap the bits over that i want to be personal.

the tire touching the coilover... could that the camber sliped when the wheel got the smack of the other car...

this would cause the tracking(wheels pointing is the wrong direction) to be out...

could also be a bent/fooked coilover.....
