Do bodyshops offer a service where they can use somethin, that you can't use yourself, to bring your old paintwork up and get it gleamin again like new.

I heard of something called mopping where they go over all your paint work and it comes up like its brand spankin new. But you can only do it a couple of times as it takes some laqur off the paint apparntley.

All they do is use a very good quality rubbing compound and a really heavy duty high speed buffer... kinda like a big angle grinder but with a polishing pad on it! Go and buy yerself a decent polisher and some quality compounds and get workin, i'd say use t-cut by hand then over the top with meguires scratch-x using the polisher and you'll have wet look paint!

you wil never be able to polish by hand the same as a mop. Every time i use mine on something i've sprayed i'm amazed with how it comes out. Really you should get it done, you will be impressed

I'd do it for about £60, it isn't so much the time it takes, but its always advisable to mask off certain areas of the car (ie. wipers and scuttle) as polish goes everwhere.
