Basically a friend of mine committed a driving offence. 3 months had passed and he had not yet recieved a summons. As 3 months have passed, he automatically assumed nothing will be done as it is a require for summons to be sent within 3 months of the offence.

He recieved the summons yesterday, backdated! Dated 2nd Feb. Whats has the law got to say about this? Is it still valid or not?

he got caught overtakin undercover cops. and they pulled him over. made some stuff up and got him done for drivin like a tit. license endorsed. fined. got about 9 points. then he nipped down to the shop at 3am (lol) to buy some lemsip as he was feelin ill (in the car he went) and got pulled over. oops. for this he never got a summons and thought he got away.

so then he retook his tests etc and passed. back on the road. then this summons came thru for the lemsip malarky.

oh well.
