Mines been like it since I got it, and its a bit of pain when people want stuff from the boot.
Having not touched the boot before, can anyone give a step by step guide to finding the problem?

As far as i know with vauxhalls (all the ones i've had anyway) if you have the slot in the lock on the rear door either vertical or horizontal, it basically means that in one position, the central locking opens all doors and boot.In other position it will open doors but boot will only open with key.
Let us know if this is right.
<It was the same on my golf as well

You would have to if you didn't have central locking or a boot pop

Yup is right!
Boot has to be unlocked & key in Vertical position when rest of car is unlocked for central locking to work properly on the boot...

Well I have central locking, but the boot seems to be constanly locked no matter what.
