dudes,
Haynes manual says remove the engine still connected to the gear box from under the car.
I'm now lucky enough to have an engine crane knocking about, so how hard is it to remove the engine (connected to the gearbox) from the top of the car?
Suggestions/Advice always welcome.
Cheers,
Willay

totally fookin impossible, trust me i know, drop it outa the bottom, you wont even need to move the arbs or all that crap
dont try bringing it outa the top by itself without a gearbox attached either, it'll send you nuts

any advice for someone doing it for the first time? I've pretty much got most stuff that the haynes manual asks for. Just thinking how am going to move the thing from under the car, may have a flat trolly knocking about.

cant u just lower the engine onto the floor with the engine crane and then lift the front of the car up and drag the engine out...

Get car on stands
Unbolt, chainsaw angle grind or otherwise remove engine, supporting its weight on a crane
Lower engine/gearbox to floor
lift car even higher up with engine crane
slide engine out
p.s the car will be stupidly high off the floor at the front... don't worry
(pretty much as per haynes )

Either way if you still have the head & such connected, you just need to raise the car a little higher than that!
But I'd remove both inlet & exhaust manifolds, it just makes it easier if your leaving the head on!
