hi just wondering if anyone can help. when i come off the accelarator in my car it seems to jerk backwards and forwards also when i try to accelerate again the car seems hesitant then all of a sudden goes again.

mine does the same, seem's to hesitate for a couple of seconds then al of a sudden pulls away quickly ??

yes the car idles normally. i hope it isn't the clutch, how much for a new clutch?

Could be a few things....Temperature sensor, EGR valve, or Air Mass Meter would be my guesses.

I find i get this sometimes, and someone posted on here their solution.It was a spring to do with the accelerator in the engine bay, he removed his and fitted a new one but it works just as well if you spray it with wd40, just doesn't last as long.The spring gets sticky with grease/dirt so it causes the momentary jolt as it returns to its position.Hope that helps.
By the way its the spring on the bit u rev the engine with in the engine bay.

mine did it to turned out to be air mass meter stil feel it sometimes doing it but its smoother and nt as bad now that it was replaced

The springy thing was the idle control valve (ICV) and i also need to do this(Look in haynes manual)
Do a search about this topic theres shoot loads of info about it

induction kits do this - just had clutch replaced stil doin it on mine

If it happens at lowers speeds i.e in slower traffic it 'will' be the ICV valve which needs replacing or cleaning
