but there are only three to choose from in the tariff i want.

i text alot - so so far the best tariff ive seen is the T-Mobile one -
its 100 free minutes and 850 free texts a month for £24.40p on an 18 month contract.

D500 is shite compoared to a K700. It has a better memory ganted, and a better camera, but then if ure saying that compare a d500 to an S700?

SE is the way forward. The K700 is due to be replaced by the K750 then the K850 ( ) so if your not desperate wait if not get the K7!!!!!!!!!

the d500 has everything the s700 has plus its smaller fair enough s700's memory is better but its too bulky in my eyes.therefore d500 hands down.

I got a k700i (is that the same as the 'k700' anyone ? )

I think it's good, well easy to use. If I were you i'd go for something a bit newer tho if you're keeping it for a bit.

D500 wins hands down?

D500 doesn't have P.I.P. (you cant print your pics via bluetooth) & it doesn't have a memory card so you can't even have them developed that way, S700 does & the quality is very very good.

The internal memory on D500 slows it down, external memory on S700 can be expanded & won't slow it down too much

Samsung menu system is crap, Sony Ericsson is the best on the market (along with Symbian OS)

Ever tried using a D500 is megapixel camera mode? Take roughly around 2 seconds to capture the image. S700 capture is far quicker no matter which size & the quality is amazing

D500 has 65K colour screen, S700 has 262K screen

The buttons are crammed in on the D500 (especially the up button & the bottom row on the keypad)

The MMS feature on Sony Ericsson phones is far far better than any other. You can be more creative with it & it open it as a presentation instead of having to flick through page by page (anyone with a SE phone u2u me your number & I'll MMS you a good one I made - Its a special test )

How many people have the D500 already? The S700 is rare compared. It has more of a woo factor

If you need to sync it with your PC the Sony Ericsson is better. Also has a better planner/organiser

These are all non biased views^. I have both a D500 & an S700. Although more people will go for a D500 because it looks "cooler" its totally mickey mouse compared to the S700

Also every chav that comes into our store asks about the D500 All the intelligent people ask about/buy a Sony Ericsson

I think its OK, but Im glad its only my 2nd phone. I would really struggle to use one everyday as my main phone

I wrote all that stuff & didn't even mention how bad the texting system is on them & how user friendly the S700's is. Its a whole new chapter......

Yep think the K750 is going to be a UK release although I think i'll wait to see if the S700 gets updated with the same cam module or the next generation P910i
