Been to a bodyshop, who are extremely good, to get a quote for having my car re-sprayed as its quite tatty now and needs some tidying up. Ive been quoted £2000 for a complete exterior re-spray in white, changing nothign except taking the washer jets out the bonnet.

Now, what I'm wondering is, as its £2000 to get the whole exterior done in standard white, do i pay an extra £400 - £500 to get the door shuts and boot shut done aswell, in a Pearlescent White. It'll leave me a bit tight on money, but should i go all out and just get it done? Only other thing that's bothering me about it, apart from the extra money is what if it gets chipped/scratched/damaged, cos as its pearl, instead of a standard white, im buggered if i need a colour match. Really cant decide, whaddya y'all reckon?

Corb baby, I had my entire car re-sprayed for £1300 and you've seen how good mine is, and that was with all the work I had done.

That included, door shuts, suspension turrets, all inside the car.

yeah, but its in REALLY shite condition if im perfectfly honest. He did say that if the paint wasn't flaking and without the cracks in the arch joins etc. it would only be £1500.

I had mine resprayed, and all the little cracks and bumps etc fixed, bad boy bonnet fitted and vectra door handles for £700. Admittedly that was slightly cheaper than normal cos i knewthe guy, but £2000 is a hell of a lot.

yeah, but you hear stories about companies who are absolutely excellent, then the occasional bad report. I dont want to be the occasional bad report, as Bodyline are 100% everytime. And they're local, last time i had it done, took it to Doncaster, and that was a cunt to get there and back for picking it up etc.

And this time it HAS to be perfect. I mean, if I go to pick it up and I aint happy with something, I'm not taking it away until it spot on, and wont pay a penny more for the correction.

thats well steep i think, can get a full respray at my local bodyshop, including door shuts boots shut and evrything stripped off (like ariel and washer jets) for around £700 - £800, and that comes out perfect every time, you wanna get it down to derbyshire mate!!

I can understand what Corb is saying though, he wants to pay 2k and be 100% sure of a good job.

Same situation Rachel has with her car, take it to Midas get a 90% good job or take it to S&T and get a 100% job and have to pay an extra £400.

I'm going to be keeping it for a long time if I get it sprayed anyway, but rarely use it. Try to keep it mainly for shows etc. if I can, then save up again and buy a 3 or 4k reliable everyday motor, instead of having a 21yr old nova, cos i want a semi-decent reputation! Wouldnt mind a leon or summit, we'll see. Also bear in mind I live in Kent, expense capital of England anyway.

yes, but your nova is nice looking, and semi-fast. Mine is standard, faded and slow as fook. Im not prepared, i dont think, to spend lots of money on 2 projects, nova and corsa. If it was just the nova, it'd have a LET, and look spot on. x

Pearl white can look dirty compared to base white if the weather isn't great.
