It's all been a bit quiet on the Mad scientist front of recent as I've been busy with my course and so has Dan with his. But I've started a few projects. The first is turbo'ing a pug 1.9GTi engine. (http://www.wpce.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=572) you can keep an eye on that.

Also on the vauxhall front, Dan's corsa. As you may know is currently running around 180BHp on TB's and will be abotu 190-195 by mid summer after I've had it back for a few weeks to breathe a bit more life in to it. But I dont' think this will be fast enough. Espically as my nova will be getting a new power plant for its christmas present. So I've embarked on turbo'ing the 2L.

I've got a set of these in the post already, they are pistons from a std vx 2L turbo engine. and will be finding a new home in dan's engine.
Then I'm going to add a K16 turbo charger.

K16 being abused.
Then through the power of the emerald ecu, will be running the engine out to 300BHP is the ball park.
Hopefully this will satisfy Dan's right foot, and mine.

On a side note, I will be available on the day before PVS at my house abotu 45mins from the pod to trouble shoot any issues you have with your motors. I've also got my mechanic Gary coming along to help, so if you want anything from an oil change to fault codes read on your ecu, let me know

You can u2u me and I'll give you the wish list.
I'm aiming to do the swap for under £600 which is prettytight budget wise.
But you'd need to add abotu 800 to that for ecu and so on. so suddenly a std LET is cheaper. But this isn't gogin to run LET power. and have some very cheeky geeky mad scientist things going on too.

Plan is coming together nicely, but is already changing a little.

I'm waiting for th epostman to bring me the pistons now.
I've sourced a top hat, which bolts on the TB on the turbo engines

And a T28 from a sunny pulsar has become available to me, it's only good for 280BHP in std trim, so it looks like the top power has been knocked a little, although I'm not so sure the last 20BHp would have done much more than kill tires anyways

Not sure the engine bay will be bling really, think it will be funtion is beauty type thing, although a chome cover to go where the plastic turbo cover would be pretty cool

top hat arrived this morning:

arrow points to a thread tapped in, to add a water injection nossle, I'll put a allen head grub screw in with lots of thread lock then cut it back inside to smooth it out.
