I know it isnt corsa related but...........

I have a w-2000 saxo vts with a blown gearbox. I have bought a new box and clutch. Just wondered if there is anyone outhere that will take a look and possably getting it running for me again, as garages and mechanics around here are sticking two fingers up at me and quoting £600+ is it me or is that a tad expensive??? Or alternativly someone who could drop a working vts/gti engine in?? I know this might be a long shot - just wondered if anyone likes doing this sort of thing on the side?! Cash is waiting
